Tebori is traditional Japanese tattooing done by hand: ink is worked into the skin with a hand-held rod and needle grouping instead of a machine. It is slower, quieter, and gives Japanese work a softness in the shading that a machine does not match. Matt builds his own tebori tools and takes on large-scale Japanese pieces, from sleeves and leg pieces to full backs.
